Ed worked as a research attorney for 18 years in the unlimited civil division at Orange County Superior Court and Fresno County Superior Court, where he handled an average of 360 motions per year.

Prior to working as a research attorney, he was a litigation attorney with the law firm of Jones Day. Since retiring from the courts, Ed has returned to private practice.

He has also worked for the Los Angeles Unified School District as a science teacher at South Gate Middle School, where he served as chair of the science department. He passed the LAUSD fluency exam in Spanish.

Ed was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended Harvard College and Stanford Law School and clerked for Judge Herbert Y.C. Choy in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He also worked as a research attorney for Justice Steven Vartebedian at the Fifth District Court of Appeal, working on civil and criminal appellate matters.
